Systems

Our systems practice covers both capability building and in-depth systems intervention design.

We base our approach on a framework we have developed and refined over decades, which we call our “system shift” framework. We work together on five phases of activity, starting with ‘direction’ and finishing with intervention design and implementation.

We help map your system to show connections, relationships, strengths and gaps using techniques that reflect your needs.

We design approaches that cover short-term and long-term multi-phase approaches to influencing and changing system performance. What we do is based on your needs.

Strategy

Our approach to strategy is simple and effective, based on decades of experience working with and designing strategic approaches and plans.

As with all of our work, our Strategy practice is based on a systems model that we call a “strategy system”.

We have not yet encountered an organisation that was interested in merely producing a strategy document. Yet, often the way in which strategy is developed is quite siloed from the way the organisation operates.

We reconnect strategy to implementation and ensure there is a practice of ongoing checking, testing, and refining of the strategy.

Teams

Our work with teams is grounded in the psychology of family-systems models of communication and interaction, together with strengths-based approaches and capability development.

Over the years, we have used many models and frameworks for teams and, through experience and practice, have refined these approaches down to a small set that work, are simple yet effective, and can be used by any team in any situation.

WOVEN is our core offering for teams at all levels who want to improve performance, connection, well-being, and communication in the team system.

Our Team Systems For Leaders offers a more in-depth systems lens for leaders of leaders and thought leaders.

Cynefin & Complexity

As practitioners, we work with complex human systems. These systems involve people, behaviour, rules and processes. Often these human systems are behaving in ways that are not what is needed - that’s where we step in, assessing, diagnosing and helping to ‘shift’ the way these systems operate.

The field of complexity science has made huge advances in the last two decades, and the emergence of the work from Professor Dave Snowden has been an integral part of our work over this period.

Our relationship with Dave and Cynefin has strengthened over the years. We have a deep understanding of the broad suite of Cynefin methods and frameworks, the Cynefin Framework “Ecosystem,” and their application and use in everyday situations.
